Chimney top resides above
Peculiar power plant.
There is a rail
Around the top,
A sign below
For you to stop.
A long thought out
Impeccable,
Above the sea,
Atop a hill.
Now closely followed insight,
Almost always alright.
I’m up and down,
I’m out and in,
I’m there and back,
Know sin from sin.
I’m run a mile
In half an hour,
And scared of things
That make me cower.
So on a doing
I take myself
Up to the topper most
Top shelf;
The brick is worn
And burned with haze,
The smoke brings seldom
Health or praise,
But here I’ve gone
To leave behind
The indignity
Of my decline.
I do’ent eat,
Nor sleep a while,
But live and die
For miles and miles.
