It’s all about class,
And not race,
Or the colour of the face,
And it always was;
Even years ago
When we were multi coloured too
Due to dirt.
And in the many years since
We may have learned
To use the sink
But the emphasis
And blame
Have stayed the same,
And have been levied
By the earners
On the terraces
Of yearners
Whilst the progress
Has been buried
Underneath
Contemporaries;
For in their eyes
It is still to do with where
You’re coming from,
And not the obvious
Disparity of income.
